Design and operate an AI-assisted marking and feedback workflow that significantly reduces time burden while maintaining or improving the quality and personalisation of feedback
Apply the Educator AI Safety Protocol with school-specific safeguarding awareness: classifying student data by sensitivity, identifying what must never enter an AI tool, and explaining safe AI use to students
Establish a principled classroom position on academic integrity in the AI age — design assessments that are AI-aware and communicate expectations clearly to students at appropriate developmental stages
Student data sits under rules we do not get to bend.
Which is why the deployment question comes before the feature question. Run it in the institution's own cloud account, in its own data centre with an air-gap option, or in a dedicated tenant — and answer the residency question with where the system runs rather than with a setting inside somebody else's product.

Do I need a technology background or prior experience with AI tools?
No. The course is written for librarians who are comfortable in their professional practice but new to deliberate AI use — you do not need coding or any technology background beyond the digital systems you already use. If you have read AI+ for Everyone (T1-01) the frameworks will be familiar; if not, the key concepts are recapped as they appear.
Will AI replace librarians?
No. The focus is on applying AI across the curate–discover–serve cycle while you keep authority over the work. The course is explicit about what AI can and cannot do for librarians, and you evaluate every output against professional standards before it is used.
How does this protect patron privacy and intellectual freedom?
A dedicated module on AI safety, privacy, and professional ethics teaches the Librarian AI Safety Protocol — protecting patron privacy, upholding intellectual freedom, respecting copyright and licensing, and maintaining the authority of the collection.
Can I trust AI-generated information such as citations and catalogue records?
Verification is the heart of the course — 'the verification moment.' You learn the TRUST Framework and a Citation Verification Loop to check authority, provenance, currency, bias, and accuracy before any AI output reaches the catalogue or a patron.
I do not work in an academic library — does this still apply to my sector?
Yes. It is written for librarians across every sector and setting — academic and research, public, school and college, and special libraries in legal, medical, corporate, and government settings — and a dedicated module covers how AI applies across library sectors.
How much time does it take to get started, and do I need special tools?
The course closes with a 30-Day Librarian AI Starter Plan that fits around routine work and uses widely available AI tools, so you can begin without special procurement and show measurable improvement in a few core tasks.
