What you will be able to do

    • Analyse any change initiative with the SHIFT Framework, covering scope, human impact, influencers, friction, and the transition plan, before a single communication goes out

    • Produce targeted, audience-specific change communications from one briefing, in a fraction of the time it currently takes

    • Build and maintain a living stakeholder map that shows where resistance is concentrating across sponsors, champions, and resistors

    • Prepare structured responses for difficult resistance conversations with the GROUND Protocol before you are in the room

    • Measure genuine adoption after go-live and tell it apart from surface compliance using quantitative, qualitative, behavioural, and outcome signals

    • Classify your change work with the AI Opportunity Matrix so AI supports the right tasks and your judgement stays where it belongs

    • Apply the GUARD AI Safety Checklist and the HR AI Safety Protocol so you can use AI on change data confidently without creating unnecessary exposure

    • Leave with a 30-Day AI+You Starter Plan and a specific first-week action to build the practice into your own work

    The curriculum

Module by module, in the order they are assigned.

Where AI Fits in Change Management

Change management runs on information, language, and judgement, which makes AI useful for production-heavy work without making it a substitute for context. You learn to map tools, classify tasks with the AI Opportunity Matrix, protect human decisions, and use the Augmentation Ladder responsibly.

Diagnosing Change with the SHIFT Framework

Structured diagnosis with SHIFT matters because change managers need a human picture before AI or anyone else drafts communications, briefings, engagement plans, or resistance work. You finish able to map affected groups, grade impact, name friction, test AI output, and surface programme gaps early.

    Change Communications

Change communications turns SHIFT analysis into targeted messages that people can use, protecting credibility when timing, audience impact, and rumour pressure matter. You learn to split audiences, brief AI with PRISM, adapt channels, and check drafts with TRUST before anything carries a sender's name.

    Stakeholder Engagement and Resistance

Stakeholder engagement and resistance are treated as connected disciplines, because change teams need current relationship intelligence before concerns harden into programme risk. By the end, you can maintain a living map, classify resistance signals, choose the right response type, and prepare a GROUND conversation.

    Building and Measuring Adoption

This module follows change past go-live, where green delivery can still hide weak adoption, workarounds, and drift. By the end, you can design AI-assisted measurement, interpret adoption signals for sponsors, and choose reinforcement actions that keep the new way normal.

Data Safety and Your 30-Day Plan

Change programme data can expose real people through stakeholder maps, survey comments, resistance notes, and employment-sensitive plans, so safe AI use matters before habits form. You classify data, apply GUARD and the HR AI Safety Protocol, then create a practical 30-day AI+You plan.

    Assessment and certificate

The course closes with a timed final exam with a pass mark and a limited number of attempts. A pass issues a PDF certificate with its own serial, in the name of the Straits Institute for Applied AI. Cohort progress, at-risk learners and a CSV export are in the admin console throughout.

    About this course

    Who is this course for?

Anyone who manages change as a significant part of their work: change managers and programme leads with formal delivery responsibility, HR business partners supporting managers through restructures and rollouts, project managers running change inside a wider delivery, and senior leaders sponsoring change programmes. The skill is the unit, not the job title.

Do I need prior AI experience or a technical background?

No. There are no prerequisite skills, though AI+ Everyone (T1-01) and AI+ Managers (T1-05) are helpful. The course does not teach change management from first principles either. It assumes you already understand change management and adds AI to the analysis, communication, and measurement work you do.

    How is the course structured?

Six 60-minute modules, presenter-led, with a watch, try, and practice rhythm. Each module includes hands-on practice you run in an AI chat, and the whole course is estimated at 10 to 14 learning hours.

Do I have to put real employee data into AI to do this?

No. Module 6 teaches the GUARD AI Safety Checklist, the HR AI Safety Protocol, and a four-tier data classification where Tier 0 Restricted is the most sensitive and Tier 3 General Operational is the least. The Clean Brief method keeps identifiable personal data out of public AI tools while keeping the work useful.

Will AI replace the judgement I bring to change work?

No. The course places AI on the drafting, analysis, and reporting that consume the hours, and protects the sponsor conversations, escalation calls, and relationship work that need your judgement. You shape the input and approve the output.

What will I walk away with?

A structured, AI-assisted approach to every stage of the change lifecycle: the SHIFT, GROUND, and GUARD frameworks and the AI Opportunity Matrix, a living stakeholder map approach, an adoption measurement approach, and a dated 30-Day AI+You Starter Plan with a first-week action.

Put this in front of a team.

Course libraries are assigned per user, team or department, and the reporting comes back to whoever has to answer for the programme. Tell us who needs it and we will show you the console.
