    Who it is for

Professional copywriters (freelance, in-house and agency) and marketing professionals who write persuasive copy as a core part of their role. If you write for advertising, web, email, direct response or brand communications and want AI to expand what you can produce without flattening your craft, this course is for you. No prior AI experience is required.

What you will be able to do

    • Brief AI precisely, so it returns drafts worth developing rather than generic filler. The brief is where copy quality is decided, and a thin brief produces plausible copy with no alarm bells.

    • Evaluate any AI-generated draft with the REACT Protocol (Reader recognition, Effectiveness, Authenticity, Copy fit, Tone consistency) before it goes anywhere near a client.

    • Develop creative concepts with AI by generating a wider range of angles and hook directions than you could produce alone, while convergent selection stays with you.

    • Write across the five core copy formats (ad copy, email, landing page, product descriptions, taglines) with a clear view of where each format needs your editing effort most.

    • Hold distinct brand voices across multiple clients at scale using a Voice Calibration Brief per brand and a Voice Library you reuse, instead of letting AI collapse every voice toward a generic mean.

    • Generate structured A/B test variants with the Variant Generation Matrix and read performance data into the next hypothesis rather than the next guess.

    • Protect client data, brand information and intellectual property with the Marketing AI Safety Protocol, and take a principled, client-transparent position on AI use.

    • Leave with a personalised 30-day plan, your first Voice Calibration Brief, and a Copywriter's Prompt Toolkit built around the work you actually do.

    The curriculum

Module by module, in the order they are assigned.

AI in Copywriting: What It Can and Cannot Do

AI already changes copywriting where volume, variation, synthesis and testing shape the work, while human judgement still decides what is worth publishing. You leave able to read the evidence, spot failure modes, and map copy tasks into Strong, Usable with Review and Human-led.

Briefing and Prompting AI for Copy

Briefing and prompting decide whether AI gives copywriters a usable first draft or competent genericness. You move from thin briefs to PRISM prompts, then use TRUST, REACT, and targeted revision to check accuracy, persuasion quality, and next-pass direction before copy leaves your desk.

    Concept Development and Creative Angles

This module turns concept development into a disciplined AI-assisted process for copywriters facing crowded categories where fluent language is not enough. By the end, you can use AI to diverge and map widely, then apply human judgement to select, pressure-test, and brief a distinctive angle.

    Writing Across Copy Formats

Writing across formats shows why strong AI-assisted copy can still fail when ads, emails, landing pages, product descriptions and taglines ignore their own persuasion mechanics. By the end, you can brief each format, spot predictable AI failures and focus editing where human judgment matters most.

    Brand Voice and Copy Testing

Brand voice and copy testing become the quality controls for AI-assisted copy at volume, especially when several client voices compete under deadline pressure. By the end, you can brief distinct voices, catch drift, generate labelled variants and turn performance data into the next hypothesis.

Safety, IP, Ethics, and Your 30-Day Plan

This final stretch turns AI-assisted copywriting into a client-safe practice, where sensitive material, regulated claims, IP uncertainty and disclosure questions are handled deliberately. You leave able to run the Marketing AI Safety Protocol, verify risky copy, explain AI use, and build a practical 30-day adoption plan.

    Assessment and certificate

The course closes with a timed final exam with a pass mark and a limited number of attempts. A pass issues a PDF certificate with its own serial, in the name of the Straits Institute for Applied AI. Cohort progress, at-risk learners and a CSV export are in the admin console throughout.

    About this course

Do I need prior AI experience to take this course?

No. The book this course is built on states that no prior AI experience is required. The foundational frameworks (PRISM for prompting, TRUST for output quality, the AI Safety Checklist) are introduced at the point you need them and explained clearly. If you want the broader AI context first, AI+ Everyone (T1-01) is the recommended starting point.

Will AI flatten my clients' brand voices?

It will, if you let it. AI tends to collapse distinct voices toward a generic mean under production pressure, and that is one of the failure modes this course addresses directly. Module 5 teaches the Voice Calibration Brief: a per-brand specification of tonal elements, vocabulary and rhythm that you load into the prompt, plus the editing discipline that catches voice drift before delivery.

Is it safe to put client briefs and brand material into a public AI tool?

Not without a check first. The course applies the Marketing AI Safety Protocol to every piece of client work: generalise brand strategy rather than pasting it, describe the audience rather than uploading customer records, treat every claim in a regulated category as unverified until a human confirms it, document your creative contribution, and summarise competitive context without the sensitive detail.

Who owns copy that AI helped write, and do I have to tell the client?

The intellectual property and usage-rights questions around AI-assisted copy are genuinely open in the industry, and the course says so rather than pretending otherwise. Module 6 works through what is settled, what is not, and how to hold a defensible, client-transparent position on disclosure, award submissions and trademark, so you can make confident decisions instead of carrying the anxiety.

Which AI tool do I need to buy?

None in particular. Every prompt in the course prompt library is complete, copy-ready text that works with any major AI model. The course teaches a method (brief, generate, evaluate, iterate) rather than the menu of one product, so the skill survives whichever tool your agency or client standardises on.

How much time does the course take, and what do I have at the end?

Six modules of 60 minutes, 360 minutes in total, taken in order. Each module produces one artefact you keep: your Copy Task-AI Map, your prompt toolkit, a concept development workflow, a cross-format editing checklist, a Voice Calibration Brief, and a 30-day adoption plan for your own practice.

Put this in front of a team.

Course libraries are assigned per user, team or department, and the reporting comes back to whoever has to answer for the programme. Tell us who needs it and we will show you the console.
