    Who it is for

Administrative professionals who keep organisations running — administrative officers, office coordinators, personal assistants, registry clerks, office managers, team administrators, and departmental secretaries — in government, corporate, healthcare, legal, and regional-branch settings.

What you will be able to do

    • Identify the admin tasks where AI saves you the most time, instead of experimenting at random.

    • Write effective prompts for correspondence, minutes, scheduling, reports, and enquiry responses using the Admin Prompt Toolkit.

    • Check AI output for accuracy, tone, and confidentiality before it goes into a professional document or out to a client.

    • Handle sensitive and classified information safely when working with AI tools.

    • Build a consistent AI habit that makes you measurably more productive week to week, not just on the day you try something new.

    • Protect the judgement and discretion that make an administrative professional trusted, while AI carries the drafting.

    The curriculum

Module by module, in the order they are assigned.

    AI in Administrative Work

AI is already changing administrative work across government and corporate teams because pattern-rich tasks such as correspondence, meetings, documents, reports, scheduling, and enquiries are affected. By the end, you can map your own tasks, use the Augmentation Ladder and Three Zones, and catch common AI failures before work goes out.

    Prompting AI for Admin Tasks

Prompting turns everyday admin requests into clear briefs, usable drafts, and checked outputs across correspondence, meetings, documents, data, scheduling, and enquiries. By the end, you can apply PRISM, run TRUST, refine AI through follow-ups, and keep professional judgement at the centre of every task.

    Correspondence, Meetings and Scheduling

This module applies PRISM and TRUST to correspondence, meetings and scheduling, where administrative professionals need speed without losing tone, accuracy or authority. By the end, learners can set register, scale routine drafts, check hard letters, verify minutes, and confirm plans against real-world details.

    Documents, Filing, Data and Reports

Documents, filing, data and reports covers the hidden admin work that makes records findable, files consistent, and figures usable for decisions. By the end, you can use AI to catalogue, retrieve, standardise, compile and quality-check work while keeping judgement over what is final, accurate and true.

    AI Safety for Confidential Work

AI safety for confidential admin work focuses on the paste decision, where citizen data, client files, employee records, financial documents, and board papers can leave organisational control. You can run GUARD, classify sensitivity, anonymise safely, choose the right tool, and explain sector duties.

Making AI Part of Your Working Week

Turning AI from a useful trial into a repeatable admin practice matters because administrative professionals need safe routines, visible results, and honest answers to adoption barriers. By the end, you can choose a trigger task, run a reliable routine with safety checks, track value for managers, and build a personalised adoption plan.

    Assessment and certificate

The course closes with a timed final exam with a pass mark and a limited number of attempts. A pass issues a PDF certificate with its own serial, in the name of the Straits Institute for Applied AI. Cohort progress, at-risk learners and a CSV export are in the admin console throughout.

    About this course

Do I need any technical background for this course?

No. It is written for administrative professionals, not for technology specialists, and assumes no prior experience with AI tools.

My job title is different — is this still for me?

Almost certainly. The course is written for administrative officers, office coordinators, personal assistants, registry clerks, office managers, team administrators, and departmental secretaries. The title varies; the work does not.

Can I use AI on confidential or classified material?

Not without clear rules, which the course provides. You learn what must never enter a prompt, how to work with sensitive material safely, and how to keep confidentiality intact while still saving time.

How do I keep the output sounding like our organisation rather than generic AI text?

Tone is treated as a core evaluation criterion alongside accuracy and confidentiality. The Admin Prompt Toolkit is built to produce drafts in your organisation's register rather than default AI phrasing.

Will this make my role redundant?

The course is direct about what AI cannot do: the judgement, discretion, and relationship work that make an administrative professional trusted. AI takes the drafting load; the accountability stays with you.

How quickly will I see the time saving?

The tasks targeted first — correspondence, minutes, scheduling, reports, and enquiry responses — are the ones that recur weekly, so the saving compounds as the habit becomes consistent.

Put this in front of a team.

Course libraries are assigned per user, team or department, and the reporting comes back to whoever has to answer for the programme. Tell us who needs it and we will show you the console.
