## What you will be able to do

- Apply structured prompting techniques (PRISM) to the core school teacher workflow: curriculum mapping, lesson planning, resource creation, marking, written feedback, assessment design, and parent/guardian communication

- Create differentiated classroom resources for mixed-ability learners — including SEND adaptations and age-appropriate outputs — using AI as a first-draft generator that the teacher then shapes with professional and contextual knowledge

- Design and operate an AI-assisted marking and feedback workflow that significantly reduces time burden while maintaining or improving the quality and personalisation of feedback

- Apply the Educator AI Safety Protocol with school-specific safeguarding awareness: classifying student data by sensitivity, identifying what must never enter an AI tool, and explaining safe AI use to students

- Establish a principled classroom position on academic integrity in the AI age — design assessments that are AI-aware and communicate expectations clearly to students at appropriate developmental stages

## The curriculum

Module by module, in the order they are assigned.

### AI in Schools Right Now

AI in Schools Right Now explains where classroom AI use already sits, why adoption is prep-focused, and why teacher confidence matters more than tool access. You locate your own practice, choose tools by task, and use the Teacher Planning Brief to generate and review a first-draft lesson plan.

### Differentiated Resources for Every Learner

Differentiated resource creation turns one base classroom material into versions that match the real spread of reading level, language background, ability, and learning need in a class. By the end, you can brief AI for resources, adapt them through a safe review workflow, and build a corrected library for future reuse.

### Marking, Feedback, and Assessment

Marking, feedback, and assessment are treated as one connected workload: the work returning to a teacher’s desk and the tasks set before it leaves. By the end, you can keep judgement with you while using AI to draft feedback, build reviewed question banks, and create specification-aligned assessment resources.

### Parent and Guardian Communication

Parent and guardian communication demands precise register because each message carries professional judgement, school reputation, and the possibility of escalation beyond the classroom. By the end, you can draft, adapt, review, and personalise AI-assisted updates, celebrations, concerns, meeting summaries, and parents' evening notes.

### AI Safety, Safeguarding, and Academic Integrity

AI safety, safeguarding, and academic integrity become one professional discipline: protect information about real children, then explain student AI use without hypocrisy. By the end, you can classify data, choose suitable tools, hold the bright line, and design assessments that test genuine understanding.

### Professional Growth and Your 30-Day Plan

This final module turns AI toward professional growth: research engagement, observation and appraisal preparation, reflection, colleague support, and a 30-day adoption plan grounded in a teacher’s real workload. By the end, you can protect professional judgement, choose three low-risk quick wins, and embed one task you keep using.

## Assessment and certificate

The course closes with a timed final exam with a pass mark and a limited number of attempts. A pass issues a PDF certificate with its own serial, in the name of the Straits Institute for Applied AI. Cohort progress, at-risk learners and a CSV export are in the admin console throughout.
